Tips and solving techniques for Masyu puzzles. When you know our solving methods, then you can try your skills with our online Masyu puzzles. We have 3 levels: easy, hard and expert.
Here are some solving techniques:
A black circle on the edge or one square away from the edge must extend toward the center.
Every black circle that is on the edge and in or near a corner can be fully filled out.
Two adjacent black circles must move away from each other.
For every white circle on the border you must draw a straight line through it parallel to the border. If you have 2 white circles on the border next to each other then you must draw s straight line through both of them and both must turn inward after they connect.
This is also the case with 2 white circles on the edge separated by 1 empty cell.
If you have 3 or more consecutive white circles then the path must go through them separately. Otherwise you would violate the turn constraint of the middle one(s).
A black circle with two white circles diagonally adjacent on the same side must have the loop heading away from that side. Therefore black circles with three white circles diagonally adjacent can be fully completed.
If you have 2 adjacent white circles, then they cannot be approached by a straight line. If you have a black circle, then an empty cell, then 2 adjacent white circles, then a straight line from the black circle must depart from the white circles.
